Denise has always had a passion for planning and coordinating since her elementary years, when she planned outings for friends and coordinated every little detail, and to her, nothing was more fun! Her natural tenacity led her to assist in the planning of her older brothers wedding, while being 8 months pregnant. It was here that she got her first taste of official event planning.
Denise gained employment at a non-profit organization as an Appeals Coordinator. After only a short amount of time, she was promoted to an Events Coordinator. In that, Denise planned all of the company’s broker events across California. She excelled at managing and coordinating all of the details while keeping all aspects of the department and events running smoothly.
Denise later went to work for another non-profit organization as the Sr. Director of Events, where she planned some of the organizations largest events, with guests consisting of over a thousand people.
Denise’s friends and family greatly valued her skills and talents and began asking her advice on their own upcoming weddings and events. She took on the role of Planner for these events, organizing well past the “I do’s” and the blowing out of the candles.
Denise realized she wanted to be a part of a wedding or special event everyday. She wanted to be a part of making others’ dreams come true just like she was making her dreams come true.
As a result of a life-long passion for planning and coordinating events, that Xxcellent Events was started, a company whose name encompasses the special characteristic she feels every event should possess.
She is married to a her loving husband, Lonnie and together they have 6 sons, 4 grandchildren and 2 Yorkies (Bentleigh and Kingsleigh).
